Funding allocations for 47 Black Spot Programme 2022/23 sites have been announced for Victoria

The 2022/23 Black Spot Programme funding allocations have been announced for Victoria, with a total of $18.4 million allocated to 47 black spots.

HDS Australia prepared Black Spot applications for 12 sites on behalf of three councils for the 2022/23 round of funding. Seven of these applications were successful and worth approximately $2.5 million, continuing HDS Australia’s excellent track record of delivering Black Spot investigations.

The Black Spot Programme help councils identify problematic locations that display a history of road crashes. Funding is allocated based on selecting treatments with high benefit-cost ratios to directly address safety issues seen at the locations. These projects contribute towards reducing the number and severity of road crashes, providing excellent outcomes for the community.

HDS Australia is currently in the process of preparing applications for the 2023/24 funding round. We have considerable expertise in providing low cost, practical solutions to improve road safety and would be happy to discuss providing assistance and investigation services to councils who are interested in making applications to this year’s funding programme.
