HDS Australia has a New Managing Director!

Establishing the business in 1989 and spending 33 years in the role, John Olson CPEng EngExec is very pleased to announce that he has relinquished his position as Managing Director at HDS Australia. As he transitions to full time retirement, John will continue as a director of the company.  In addition, he will continue in the specialist roles of Principal Engineer Road Transport Planning and Principal Engineer Wastewater and provide valuable mentoring to our future leaders.

Responsibility for the next phase of the company’s development has been passed into the highly capable hands of Daniel Ahrens, CPEng, who was previously Principal Engineer Roads & Infrastructure at HDS Australia (a role he will retain). Daniel will continue to be ably supported by our Operations Manager, Simon Chartier, as well as an expanded Leadership Group.

Daniel says “When I first started as a Graduate Engineer at HDS Australia in 2003 I never imagined being Managing Director someday, but I’m pleased this is where the journey has led. I thank John Olson and Simon Chartier, along with the rest of the team, for trusting me to take on this role.”
