Sturt Highway Road Safety Upgrades

Road Safety Audits and Heavy Vehicle Route Assessments

The Sturt Highway is set to receive upgrades that will significantly improve road safety along this key freight, community access and tourist route (refer to ABC news article link).

HDS Australia has been proudly involved in many aspects of the improvement of Sturt Highway including the completion of Road Safety Audits and Heavy Vehicle Route Assessments of the entire route from Gawler to the Victorian Border near Renmark, including detailed assessments of the notorious intersections and detailed consideration of overtaking lanes. These assessments were undertaken by two DIT accredited senior road safety auditors and restricted access vehicle route assessors, namely Tim Viner Smith and Richard Medhurst. The findings from this work form a significant contribution in determining where road funding should be allocated for maximum safety benefit.
