Port Augusta’s Joy Baluch AM Bridge duplication has officially opened

HDS Australia has been undertaking design and construction stage road safety audits since late 2020 for the Augusta Highway – Joy Baluch AM Bridge duplication at Port Augusta. This bridge duplication provides an additional two-lane bridge over the spencer gulf through Port Augusta, providing a total of four traffic lanes (two in each direction) between the Caroona Road / Burgoyne intersection to the west and the Mackay Street intersection to the east. The project also provides shared use paths on each bridge.

A brilliant effort by all involved getting this project to near completion with the second side of the bridge now open after two years of construction. The community celebrated the opening ceremony by walking the length of the now much safer and effective bridge.
